Cynthia's practice emphasizes debtor-creditor law, bankruptcy, workouts and
related litigation. For over twenty years she has created legal solutions
for creditors, debtors and other parties involved in financially troubled
situations. Board certified in business bankruptcy by the American Board
of Certification, her diverse bankruptcy practice focuses on large and small
businesses and complex individual cases in the Northwest, but she has also
appeared in federal and bankruptcy courts throughout the country, including the
Southern District of New York and Delaware. Cynthia clerked for Judge
Skidmore of the Western District Bankruptcy Court at Tacoma and is an adjunct
professor at the University of Washington School of Law.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS
- Represented Chapter 11 Debtor with over 40 retail locations in several
states; negotiated purchase and sales agreements and lease assignments for
majority of locations.
- Represented Lender with $500,000 unsecured loan, negotiated workout;
recovered assets transferred into remote trusts, collateralized loan,
ultimately resulted in payment in full.
- Successfully reorganized Chapter 11 Debtors with over 1000 acres of
mixed use land, including, historic golf course, Chapter 11 Plan and claim
litigation resulted in 100% payment to Creditors and Debtors' retention of
various assets and property interests.
- Obtained appointment of Receiver in shareholder dispute; assisted receiver
in selling manufacturing business and commercial real property; Creditors
paid in full with surplus paid to shareholders.
- Unsecured Creditors' Committee Counsel: Pierce County Housing Authority
Chapter 9 (municipal bankruptcy); worked with mold litigators to acquire
Creditor control of all causes of action and insurance related proceeds.
